What the site keeps, why, who it shares it with, and how to change your mind.

Who we are

Aion2 Guide (aion2.run) is an unofficial AION 2 fan guide, not affiliated with NCSOFT. Its publisher is responsible for the data described here.

For any question about your data: [email protected].

Without an account

You can read the whole guide without an account. Your preferences (language, theme, region), characters, builds and progress are kept in your browser storage. They are only stored on the site's server if you create an account.

When you link a character to its in-game sheet, the site reads its public sheet on NCSOFT's official website and keeps a copy for up to 31 days to show it faster. The site's ranking and player pages come from those same public pages.

With an account

Your account keeps your username, your email address, your password hashed with Argon2id (never in plain text) and what you sync: characters, builds, configurations and progress.

Your session lives in a protected cookie (httpOnly, SameSite) valid for 30 days. Builds you publish are visible to everyone with your username, never with your email address.

To protect accounts, the server keeps for 30 days the addresses (IPv4, or IPv6 prefix) from which each account successfully logged in, and counts attempts per address to curb abuse.

You can delete your account from the Account page: its data is then erased. The server's encrypted backups may keep a copy for a limited time.

Security and service providers

The site runs through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds it up. When you sign up, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot.

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the European Union, notably in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Audience measurement

The site uses Google Analytics 4 (_ga cookies) to count visits and see which pages are most useful (data kept for at most 14 months by Google).

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, nothing is measured with cookies before you agree. Elsewhere, measurement is on by default and you can refuse it at any time.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent platform (IAB TCF) asks for your consent before any advertising cookie and lists the partners; elsewhere, refusing in the site's banner limits ads to non-personalized ones. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookies and ads” link in the footer.

If you use an ad blocker, a Google message may ask you to allow ads on this site; you remain free to continue without doing so.

You can also opt out of personalized advertising in Google's ad settings.

Your rights

Legal bases: your consent for audience measurement and advertising, performance of the service for the account, the site's legitimate interest in its security.

You can access, correct, erase, object to the use of, or export your data. The Account page lets you correct and delete your account; for anything else, write to [email protected].

You can also contact the data protection authority of your country (in France, the CNIL).
