AION 2 October 28 patch: weaker bosses, higher HP, 100% crafting

In late October, NCSOFT made Global progression more accessible: weaker expedition and Transcendence bosses and higher base HP for every class. On November 4, crafting became 100% safe and expedition exploration paid more. Here is what changed and how to use it.

The site's stat calculator includes this increase. The Assassin also got two changes that day: Illusive Clone goes from a 90 to a 60 s cooldown, and Heightened Sixth Sense gives 1,000, 2,000 then 4,000 HP at levels 5, 10 and 20.

Crafting: higher breakthrough caps and safe recipes

  • Oct 28: breakthrough cap of crafted gear raised: True Dragon and Star Dragon (and their radiant versions) from 1 to 3, White Dragon and Black Dragon (and radiant versions) from 3 to 5.
  • Oct 28: tier 3 expedition gear can be transferred to tier 2 crafted gear, and tier 2 to tier 1.
  • Nov 4: 100% recipes for True Dragon and Star Dragon gear (bound, no COMBO).

New daily dungeon and shop (October 28)

  • Odylium Repository: bound Soul Crystals based on your score; its entries are shared with the Daeva Bio Research Base.
  • Instant completion (Nightmare and daily dungeon): 14 per server per week, at 30,000 Kinah.
  • Od Energy in the shop: 4 per character and 16 per server per week.
  • Gathering now requires level 45 (instead of 10) and is capped at 1,000 attempts per day per server.

Better-paid expedition exploration (November 4)

Exploration of Draupnir, Vakron Sky Island and Ferocious Horn Den now gives rewards on par with Normal mode. Kinah decreases from the 41st run: 100% up to 40, then 80, 60, 40 and 20% beyond 70.

What it means for you

  • Expedition and Transcendence bosses are more forgiving: a good time to try the next stage or Hard mode.
  • Before crafting, factor in the new breakthrough caps: True Dragon and Star Dragon gear now goes higher, and its recipe always succeeds.
  • Exploration Kinah drops from the 41st run: beyond that, other activities pay more.
