AION 2 pets and wings guide: how to get them and what to pick

Pets: what they are for

The game calls everything you ride a pet: the client counts 207, split into five genera, Fera (65), Natura (48), Varian (46), Cogni (41) and Special (7). A pet unlocks with the souls dropped by the matching monster.

• Mount: Pet Insight level 1 unlocks the mount, level 2 gliding, level 3 transformation with an Empathy Candy (except for the 7 Special pets).
• Owned bonuses: each pet adds small passive bonuses by genus (Fera: ground speed and Accuracy, Natura: Stamina, Varian: Evasion, Cogni: HP and Crit). They stack, even while the pet rests.
• Genus Insight: once one pet of the genus is maxed, you unlock randomly rolled stat lines, including Smite.
• Shared collection: in Korea, pets count for every character on the server since January 2026, so a single character can level them. To be confirmed on Global.

No mount is faster than another: the client gives all of them the same speeds (900 run, 1,200 sprint). Only the Fera genus adds ground speed, from +1 to +3 depending on the tier.

How to get pets

   Pick your starter pet

   A level 10 quest lets you choose between the Fossa, the Armadon and the Tog, three Fera that ride identically.

   Hunt souls

   A pet needs 5 souls to unlock. The Sources tab of the Pets menu shows where to hunt each one. A duplicate pet item turns into a soul.

3. 3

   Raise Insight

   Level 2: 25 more souls. Level 3: 75 more, 105 in total according to client data. On Global, level 3 is the maximum; Korea goes up to 5.

   Open the chests

   The Odylium Repository, a daily dungeon, gives pet chests and soul crystals. The Black Cloud merchants also sell pets for Kinah, with stock refreshed every hour according to Game8.

   Claim the gifts

   The launch chest gives Pagati and a pet of your choice (Papis, Silver Blade Rotan, Konutin Worker or Black Smoke Murute): log in before the 1 December maintenance. The Ultimate Founder's Pack offers the Black Dragon.

Genus Insight: the hidden stats

Each analysis costs 4 soul crystals of the genus and 1,000 Kinah, and rerolls every unlocked line. There are up to 9 slots, opened one per level. Locking a good line keeps it, but each lock makes the next analysis pricier: from 8 crystals and 2,000 Kinah with one lock up to 396 crystals and 99,000 Kinah with eight.

• Stat priority according to Game8: Smite (Double Chance in English), then Attack, Boss Attack, Crit and Accuracy. Smite only appears at levels 3 and 9.
• Only lock the rarest line, so the price doesn't explode.
• Crystals come from the Odylium Repository, hidden cubes and duty missions.

Wings: equipped effect and owned effect

The client holds 28 wing models in Elyos and Asmodian versions, 56 entries: 13 Unique, 7 Legendary, 4 Rare, 1 Common and 3 cosmetic pairs with no stats. Each pair has two effects: what it gives while worn, and a smaller owned effect that counts as soon as you have it and always includes Flight Power. It stacks from pair to pair, so collecting beats betting on a single pair.

Your first wings are the most profitable for flight: the Lesser Daeva Wings (level 5 quest for Elyos, 6 for Asmodians) give only 200 HP when equipped, but +2,000 owned Flight Power, ten times most other pairs.

Where to find wings

Wings can be enhanced up to +10 with Kinah, Sync Stones and Enhance Stones. According to the client, Rare and Legendary always succeed; Unique is safe up to +3, then drops to 90, 80, 50, 50, 50, 40 and 30% from +4 to +10.

What to aim for

• Early on: do the story wing quests (Ascension and level 30). They cost zero Kinah and give the most Flight Power.
• For PvE: Nightmare Wings (+3.5% Damage Boost against bosses, Attack +60, Crit +35), Forest Spirit for a sturdy role, Talisra for 4% cooldown reduction, Dark Veil for an all-round profile, and Kromede as your first Unique.
• For PvP: Brawler Wings (3% status chance and resistance, 500 HP, and +1% PvP Damage Boost just for owning them).
• For pets: start with the easy Fera, then the genera whose stats you want. Many common pets beat a single rare mount.
• Collection titles matter: 25 wing pairs give Dominator of Dimensions (+4.5% PvE damage tolerance and 1,000 HP equipped), 200 pets give Rule All Creation (+320 DEF).

What it costs

• Pets: mostly hunting time, 105 souls for a level 3. Shortcuts: Pagati for 2,000,000 Kinah from the Tsenka merchants (once per server) and pets for Kinah from the Black Cloud merchants.
• Genus Insight: 4 crystals and 1,000 Kinah per roll, up to 396 crystals and 99,000 Kinah with eight locks.
• Wings: 50 feathers and 10 Radiant Odyle for a Unique, 70 feathers and 10 Pure Odyle for a Legendary. Radiant Odyle comes from Vitality Extraction, unlocked at level 45. Abyss wings cost 200,000 or 800,000 AP.
• Nothing forces you to pay: wings and pets sold for real money are cosmetic, with no stat bonus.

Global or Korea

• Insight: maximum 3 on Global, 5 in Korea. In Korea, the souls required were halved on 7 January 2026 (10, 50, 150, 300 and 500 before).
• Hidden cubes: 1,000 soul crystals on Global versus 100 in Korea, and Smite capped at 3% (AION2Hub, September test).
• Wings: the Korean recipe that turned wings into 90,000 Enhance Stones wasn't found on Global, and players report that crafted wings can no longer be traded. To be confirmed.
